Icarus Marine (Pty) Ltd was established in 2006 in Cape Town, South Africa as a Naval Architecture company specializing in high-speed craft design including hydrofoil-supported catamarans.  From its outset the company was internationally focused and has established long term relationships with shipyards and end-users around the world.  In 12+ years of operations, Icarus Marine has positioned itself as a leading designer of  professional craft in sizes up to 500 gross tons / 60m length.

We now work with leading shipyards in SE Asia as well as  Europe, Africa and the Middle East and have worked hard to forge a reputation of being a reliable design partner able to meet performance requirements that so often form part of any design and construction contract.

Over the years we have developed specialized knowledge in the design and construction of hydrofoil supported supported multihulls (HYSUCAT and other types) and design and supply of turnkey hydrofoil supported vessels is one of our core activities.

The company’s portfolio of designs includes aluminium, steel, armoured steel,  glass fibre, carbon fibre and HDPE vessels that are all designed in-house and the range of vessel types within our core compentancy has expanded over the years to include hovercraft,  inland waterway vessels and unmanned vessels.

Moving into the future, we intend to position ourselves as the premier small & medium sized craft designer in South Africa and form strategic partnerships with other designers around the world in order to broaden our range  of vessels on offer.
